Wow Wow Widgets are blocks of easily customizable templates that are dynamically displayed on any MIVA Merchant 5 page. A widget can contain text, html, or MIVA Merchant's template scripting code. Widgets are flexible and reusable, can be easily edited and duplicated, and can be used to display dynamic content - including products, categories, and baskets - anywhere.
An ingenious module that makes MIVA Merchant 5 even easier to customize and provides advanced, admin-friendly control of the contents and layout of your store's pages.
Six Types of Widgets – Standard, Product Display, Category Listing, Category Listing (Random Products), Basket Content Display & Variables – are available.
New Features:
Randomized Listing of Products – A new type of Category Widget can be used to display a listing or product which changes everytime the page is displayed. Great for listing featured products on the storefront.
Display of Sub-Categories – A new feature for the Category Widget. Sub-categories for a selected category can be displayed - listing can included category codes, category names, total products in the categories, and links to the categories.
Variables Widget – An entirely new type of widget. Custom variables can now be added to any template or page. As many as 22 variables can be utilized and displayed – including numbers, formatted prices & text.
Basket Tokens – The Basket Widget has new tokens for total quantity, total weight & total basket charges.
Widgets can be used to display: a mini-basket in the sidebar of any page; one or more category listings on the storefront and on any other page; mini-category listings anywhere, with links to the category page; products on any page; multiple headers and footers; blocks of dynamic content that are reused in specific place through out the store; and just about anything else, anywhere.
By adding a content management layer, the Wow Wow Widgets module makes it easier to include, edit and manage content within MIVA Merchant 5.

What are Widgets?
Widgets are blocks of customizable compiled template code that are dynamically displayed on any MIVA Merchant 5 page.
Widgets are like mini-pages that can be added to any page.
A widget can contain text, html, or MIVA Merchant's template scripting code.
Once a widget is created, it can be include in the template of any MIVA Merchant page simply by adding an item token.
What can Widgets do?
Widgets can display dynamic content, including products, categories, and baskets, anywhere.
For instance, a Widget can display:
a mini-basket in the sidebar of any page
one or more category listings on the storefront and on any other page
mini-category listings anywhere, with links to the category page
products on any page
multiple headers and footers
blocks of dynamic content that are reused in specific place through out the store
How can Widgets help me?
Widgets can make it easier to include, edit and manage content within MIVA Merchant.
Editing page templates can be confusing, especially if they contain lots of custom content. Instead of hard-coding all the custom content directly into the page template, instead place Widget items within the page. This makes the content easier to edit and separates the more complex scripting or html code from the blocks of content that needs to be frequently updated.
A Widget can contain blocks of dynamic content that is reused on multiple pages. The content of a single Widget can then be edited, rather than editing multiple pages.
By adding a content management layer to MIVA Merchant, the programming and design tasks can be separated from the content editing task.
How do I get started?
With 10+ example Widgets, which can be easily duplicated and edited.

Six Types of Widgets
In addition to a standard Widget that can be used in many flexible ways,
there are three Special Type Widgets:
Standard
– a block of text, html code, or MIVA Merchant's template scripting code can easily edited, displayed and reused in multiple locations throughout the store.
Product Display
– a product can be assigned to a Widget and displayed, complete with attributes, quantity field and add to basket button
Category Listing
– a category can be assigned to a Widget and have a selected number of its products listed ; subcategories can also be listed;
Category Listing (Random Products)
– same features as standard category listing widgets, products assigned to category are listed in randomized order
Basket Content Display
– the content of the basket can be displayed in multiple formats on any page
Variables
– 5 number, 5 price, 10 text & 2 memo variables can be utilized and displayed within a widget or within any template;
WidgetGroups
Widgets can be grouped together for display and administrative purposes.
By assigning individual Widgets to a WidgetGroup, all the assigned Widgets can be displayed on a page by adding a single Item Token.
Then the content displayed can be easily modified by assigning or unassigning Widgets, as needed.
Admin-Friendly Widgets & Content Management
The Widgets & WidgetGroups Admin screens provide sorting and searching capability, simplifying the content management process.
Widget and WidgetGroups can be easily duplicated.
A special admin screen is provided for assigning Widget & WidgetGroup items to pages.
Widget Version History
MIVA Merchant's version history feature is used by all Widget & WidgetGroup templates.
Each time a Widget or WidgetGroup is updated, the previous version of the template is saved.
