The weight table shipping module by state zone allows you to specify different
shipping charges based on the method of shipping AND the weight of items AND
the State the item is being shipped to. This Miva Merchant module evaluates the
"ship to" State and displays its methods and charges applicable to the
destination. This prevents customers from selecting its lower shipping charges
which may not be available for them.
The weights are setup by range groups, ie. from weight total X to weight total
Y, the charge is Z. Multiple weight range groups can be established for each
method of shipment and each state zone. A state zone can include one or more
states. As a wildcard, you can charge shipping to all states not already
placed in a zone rather than placing every state in one of the zones. Not compatible with the current google checkout module as that module does not use the customer's address to select the shipping methods available.
The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server and
permissions are set correctly on the data
directories. This would be the case in most of the server setups. If you are using Merchant 5.x and your host is web.com, you will not be able to use this module due to the way they configure their servers. There are no known issues with
other hosts.
